Dashboards, Source-to-target, and other improvements

Source-to-target updates:

  • Custom SQL metrics - Write your own SQL queries to compare data between sources and targets. Perfect for complex validation scenarios that keep you up at night.
  • Group-by functionality - Slice and dice your source-to-target monitoring by groups (because sometimes you need to compare apples to apples, not apples to the entire fruit basket).

Dashboard updates:

  • Automatic refresh - Dashboards can now refresh themselves on a schedule, so you can finally stop hitting F5 like it owes you money.
  • New collections - Organize your dbt jobs, Fivetran connectors, and Airflow DAGs into collections that make sense for your team (Marie Kondo would be proud).

Other updates:

  • Better search - Partial matching is back and faster than ever – find tables like 'CUSTOMER' by typing 'cust'.
  • Sigma workbook tags - Now, you can tag Sigma workbooks just like any other asset in Metaplane. Use tags for dashboard collections, alert routing, or incident routing.
  • Monitor bound controls - Set minimum and maximum thresholds for your monitor bounds. Think fo it as guardrails for your guardrails (ha!).
  • Entity filter improvements - Filter menus now show only what's relevant to your current view, with clear descriptions of available filters in each category. Empty categories are automatically hidden, and each filter type is clearly labeled, making it easier to find exactly what you're looking for (and nothing you're not).
  • Freshness weekly seasonality - Our freshness monitors are better at understanding that Mondays are different from Fridays (just like the rest of us—is this AGI?).
